SPRINGFIELD - State police arrested a Creswell man Thursday after finding a mobile methamphetamine lab in his car.

 stopped a 1990 Dodge sedan near the intersection of Game Farm Road and International Way about 11:40 a.m. The driver of the car had made an illegal left turn, police said.

Turner said he saw things that made him suspect the driver, Todd Arney, 40, of possessing and manufacturing meth. A search found a boxed meth lab, including toxic chemicals and manufacturing equipment, in the rear of the car.

Arney was booked into the Lane County Jail on charges of making and possessing meth. The Interagency Drug Lab Response Team removed the equipment and chemicals. Northwest Hazmat cleaned up the site.

Troopers later visited three Springfield-area homes to investigate possible cases of child endangerment related to the meth lab, but found no evidence of a crime.

Deputies say woman hit husband with car

COOS BAY - A Coquille woman was arrested Thursday in Coos Bay on a felony assault charge after allegedly striking her husband with her vehicle.

Coos County sheriff's deputies responded to a domestic violence call at around 10:30 p.m. Thursday at 94793 Vista Lane in Coquille. They said Michelle Griffin, 21, allegedly struck her husband, Jarred Griffin, 25, with her vehicle during an argument. Further details on the incident were not immediately available.

Deputies arrested Griffin at her parent's house in Coos Bay. She was booked at the Coos County Jail in North Bend.

COOS BAY - An Oregon State Police bomb squad was called to the Empire Boat Ramp early Friday after Coos Bay police found what appeared to be a bomb.

Police had secured the bathroom where the device was located until the bomb squad arrived from Salem.

The bomb squad discovered four seal bombs and two blasting caps. Fishing trawlers use the devices to keep seals away from their fishing nets. It was not known who left the items in the bathroom.
