settle discrimination lawsuit

A car salesman who claimed he was verbally and physically harassed on the job because of his Iranian origin and Islamic beliefs has settled his lawsuit against the dealership.

Hussain Adel, his former supervisor, Mark Harris, and the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission filed the lawsuit in September 2004 in U.S. District Court in Eugene. The EEOC EEOC

The suit said that the new management team called Adel a ``terrorist'' and a ``camel jockey,'' and asserted that he attended al-Qaeda training camps.

The EEOC said Harris was fired because he complained about the behavior, which included managers mimicking the speech of a Chinese employee.
