Dog stranded on island is returned to owner

A dog stranded on an island in the McKenzie River For rivers name "Mackenzie", see .
The McKenzie River is a tributary of the Willamette River, 86 miles (138 km) long, in northwestern Oregon in the United States. It drains part of the Cascade Range east of Eugene into the southernmost end of the Willamette Valley.

The Lane County Animal Regulation Authority and the Lane County Sheriff's Office Marine Patrol responded Wednesday to a call of a dog stranded on an island in the river, but could not capture the dog. On Friday, LCARA responded to a caller on McKenzie View Drive who had confined a loose dog.

`The dog was the same one that LCARA had been searching for since the rescue attempt on Wednesday,' said Mike Wellington, LCARA manager.
