SUTHERLIN - Douglas County authorities located a marijuana growing operation in the forest Monday containing 2,800 plants worth $2 million.

Officers found 38-year-old Antonio Chavez-Cisneros inside a tent at the site and arrested him on charges of unlawful manufacture of marijuana, unlawful possession of marijuana and unlawful possession of cocaine, police said.

Douglas County Sheriff's deputies saw a pickup speeding from the area as they arrived, police said. They arrested Gerardo Cisneros-Pena, 35, and Norma Garcia-Jaramillo, 33, for unlawful manufacture of marijuana and unlawful possession of marijuana.

A 4-year-old girl and a 7-year-old boy in the truck were taken to the state child welfare office in Roseburg.

At the grow site, police found ammunition but no firearms, police said. The marijuana plants were between 4 inches and 2 feet tall.

Joshua Blackburn is lodged in the Benton County Jail, charged with murder with a firearm, police said.
