Pedestrian hurt critically when he is struck by car

A man was critically injured Monday evening when he was struck by a car as he tried to run across West Seventh Avenue, Eugene police said.

Police seeking suspect

A Eugene man was shot once Sunday night during what appears to have been a drug deal gone bad, police said.

Several residents of an apartment complex on the 1100 block of Charnelton Street called police at 10:55 p.m. after hearing a single gunshot and the calls of the victim, police spokeswoman Melinda Kletzok said.

The man was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Detectives from the violent crimes unit are investigating the shooting, Kletzok said. The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, 5-foot-10-inches tall, 150 pounds, with blond hair and green eyes.
