Minor earthquake shakes up Valley

Child sex abuse arrest reported

VAN NUYS -- A man listed as a licensed nurse from Van Nuys was arrested on suspicion of sexual abuse of a minor, authorities said Monday.

Accident severs woman's legs

SIMI VALLEY -- A woman in her 40s had both her legs severed Monday in a freak accident involving a forklift at a factory, authorities said.

The woman, whose name was not released, was injured about 11:10 a.m. at a business in the 1300 block of Kuehner Drive when the forklift she was operating tipped over and fell on top of her, said Capt. Cop car footage storage debated

The Los Angeles City Council's Public Safety Committee agreed Monday that footage capturing officer behavior from cameras mounted inside police cruisers should be kept on file for two years.

State laws require that the videos be kept on file for at least one year, and a city law calls for the images to be saved for five years.
