3 hospitalized after being shot

CANOGA PARK -- Three men were hospitalized after being shot multiple times by two suspected gang members whom police are seeking, authorities said Sunday.

One man was hit in the chest and was in critical condition, LAPD 1. LAPD - Link Access Procedure on the D channel.

 Officer Mike Lopez said. The two other men do not have life-threatening injuries, he said.

The suspected gang members approached the three about 8:30p.m. Saturday at Sherman Way and Independence Avenue and then fired on them. Lopez said the gunmen and the injured in·jure

 bullet hits sleeping woman

FILLMORE -- A 20-year-old woman narrowly escaped death early Sunday after a stray bullet from the street ricochetted around her bedroom and landed on her back, authorities said.

The Fillmore woman, whose name was not released, was treated for a small burn from the bullet, which didn't break the skin, said Sgt. Mike Horne of the Ventura County Sheriff's Department The Ventura County Sheriff's Department (VCSD) provides law enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County, California, USA, as well as several cities within the county. The cities that VCSD serves are Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, and Thousand Oaks. .

Gunfire broke out about 2:55a.m. Sunday in the 700 block of Akers Street. One bullet came through the woman's bedroom window, penetrated her mattress and eventually wound up on her back.

Horne said there are no suspects.

Police search for gang suspect

VAN NUYS -- Police on Sunday searched for a suspected gang member thought to be hiding in a home near Runnymede Street and Sepulveda Boulevard, where he fled after Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  police officers fired on him.

Authorities do not know if the man was shot, LAPD spokesman Kevin Maiberger said. Maiberger said officers responded to a call about 11:25a.m. of a gunman at Saticoy Street and Sepulveda Boulevard.

Earlier in the day, the same gunman is thought to have threatened an acquaintance in the 7500 block of North Sepulveda Boulevard, but he fled before officers arrived.
