Authorities seize drugs after routine traffic stop

COBURG - A routine traffic stop Friday afternoon by Coburg police on Interstate 5 led to the discovery of a large amount of drugs in the car, police officials said.

An officer stopped 28-year-old Miguel Legorreta of Springfield for a minor traffic violation and learned he was driving with a suspended license. After the car was towed and searched, police said they discovered more than an ounce of cocaine and nearly 2.5 pounds of what they believed to be methamphetamine.

Legorreta was taken to the Lane County Jail and is charged with unlawful possession and delivery of a controlled substance controlled substance n. a drug which has been declared by federal or state law to be illegal for sale or use, but may be dispensed under a physician's prescription. .

SWEET HOME - A Bend man was seriously injured Friday when a large rock crashed through the windshield of his pickup truck and hit the right side of his body, Oregon State Police said.

Sean Passage, 23, was on Highway 20 about 27 miles east of Sweet Home when the rock hit him in the side and arm shortly before 5 p.m. He was able to stay in control of the car and pulled over the the right shoulder. He laid down on the ground and flagged a passing motorist who drove him toward town and into cell phone range.
