A.V. Mall to host trick-or-treating

PALMDALE -- Antelope Valley Mall The Antelope Valley Mall is an enclosed shopping mall in Palmdale, California.

Opened in September, 1990, its buildings take up around 1 million square feet (90,000 m²). Its physical main building, parking lots, and ring road businesses encompass an area a bit less than 0.
 will host trick-or-treating Oct. 31, with shops handing out treats from 5to 7 p.m., or until supplies run out. Children can dress up in costumes, but mall managers ask for them not to wear masks for safety reasons.

Sunnydale's fall carnival Saturday

LANCASTER -- Sunnydale Elementary School's will host its annual fall carnival from 10a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The school is at 1233 W. Ave. J-8.

Tickets at 25 cents each let youngsters play games and win prizes, make crafts and buy food.

Youngsters can lock their friends in a haunted jail and tour a haunted house A haunted house is defined as building that is believed to be a center for supernatural occurrences or paranormal phenomena.[1] A haunted house may contain ghosts, poltergeists, or even malevolent entities. .

Yoga, MS classes set for Saturday

PALMDALE -- Lyengar yoga instructor Eric Small will lead two workshops Saturday on using yoga to cope with multiple sclerosis.

Sponsored by the National Multiple Sclerosis Society's Southern California Southern California, also colloquially known as SoCal, is the southern portion of the U.S. state of California. The workshop from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. is for people with MS or for others interested in adaptive yoga. The workshop will teach breath control, basic poses for flexibility, strength and stress management and maintaining a personal yoga program. Cost is $5.

Small was diagnosed with MS more than 40 years ago. He travels the world teaching adaptive yoga to people with MS and other disabilities.

Elks to host Halloween party

LANCASTER -- Children ages 12 and younger can play games, walk through a haunted house and enjoy free hot dogs or hamburgers and punch at the Lancaster Elks Lodge's annual Halloween party.

Every child gets a treat bag. Admission is free.

The party runs from 6 to 8p.m. Oct. 31 at the lodge hall, 240 E. Ave. K. Children must be accompanied by their parents.

Marines' birthday focus of dance

EDWARDS AIR FORCE BASE Edwards Air Force Base, U.S. military installation, 301,000 acres (121,805 hectares), S Calif., NE of Lancaster; est. 1933. It is one of the largest air force bases in the United States and has the world's longest runway.  -- Marines will celebrate the Marine Corps' 231st birthday Nov. 9 with a dress ball at Club Muroc.

Arthritis seminar on Wednesday

LANCASTER -- A seminar for senior citizens about arthritis will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday at High Desert Medical Group, 43839 15th St. W.

Speaking will be Dr. Don Parazo. Refreshments will be provided.
