VENTURA -- A former Thousand Oaks pastor has pleaded guilty to molesting a student at Thousand Oaks Baptist Church School over a seven-year period in the 1980s.

William Alan Malgren, 52, was arrested in Idaho earlier this month and pleaded guilty Wednesday to sexually assaulting the girl from 1983 to 1989. At the time, Malgren was a pastor at the church-run school where the girl, now a woman in her 30s, was a student.

He was asked to leave the Ventura County church in 1989 after someone reported him acting inappropriately with the girl, detectives said.

The woman, who now lives in another state, came forward with her story within the past month, authorities said. Detectives believe there may have been other victims, based on several phone calls received by the Sheriff's Department after Malgren's arrest.
