Harley dealers help fight cancer

MOORPARK -- Camarillo and Moorpark Harley-Davidson dealerships are giving away two Schwinn motor scooters to raise funds and awareness to combat breast cancer.

Library to benefit from book sale

SIMI VALLEY Simi Valley (sē`mē, sĭm`ē), city (1990 pop. 100,217), Ventura co., SW Calif. in an oil, fruit, and farm region; laid out 1887, inc. 1969.  -- The Friends of the Simi Valley Library group is seeking donations of books, music, videos and recent magazines for its Fall Blowout Book Sale on Nov. 4.

At the sale, fiction, nonfiction, children's books and records will be available for 25 cents each, or $1 a bag. All proceeds will benefit the Simi Valley Library.

The sale will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the library's community room at 2969 Tapo Canyon Road.

THOUSAND OAKS -- Reservations are $90 each and the deadline is Friday for the 23rd annual La Reina High School La Reina High School is a Catholic college preparatory junior and senior high school for girls.
