U.S. women ousted from World Championships by Russia

Russia knocked out two-time defending champion United States 75-68 in the semifinals of the women's basketball World Championships on Thursday in Sao Paulo, Brazil, snapping the Americans' 26-game winning streak in this event.

 Community College in Mission Viejo verbally committed to the Matadors nearly a year after he signed a letter of intent.

He signed with the Matadors out of North High in Phoenix, but did not meet admissions qualifications, leading him to enroll at Saddleback. Last season he averaged 11.8 points, 7.4 rebounds and shot 60 percent from the field.
