6 who sold booze to teens are cited

LANCASTER -- Six store clerks were cited Thursday night and their employers could be fined or have their liquor license Noun 1. liquor license - a license authorizing the holder to sell alcoholic beverages

 suspended for selling alcohol to teenagers in a Sheriff's Department ``sting'' operation, deputies said.

An additional 32 stores that were visited by 18- and 19-year-old sheriff's volunteers seeking to buy alcohol refused to sell to them, deputies said.

Congratulatory letters will be sent to the 32 stores that refused to sell to the teens.

The businesses where the teens were sold alcohol were The Dairy, 44419 Division St.; Carniceria Gonzalez, 113 E. Ave. J; Super Store, 45549 Beech Ave.; Arco AM-PM, 42420 60th St. W.; BL-2, 41958 50th St. W., and Super Quick Dairy, 4358 W. Ave. L.

The operation was funded by a grant the Lancaster sheriff's station received in July from the state Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control Alcoholic Beverage Control may refer to:
