Meth lab probe nets five arrests

Burglary suspect found in hiding

WINNETKA -- Police captured a burglary suspect Wednesday after he led them on a chase and tried to hide in a nearby apartment, authorities said.

Police tried to stop the man after seeing him in a car they later determined was stolen, officials said.

``He bails out, then starts running,'' Los Angeles Police Department Sgt. Jim Setzer said. ``They recognized who he was from prior arrests.''

Police chased the man through apartment buildings near Sherman Way and Oso Street before taking him into custody.

VAN NUYS -- A nurse's assistant accused of molesting a half-dozen recovering surgery patients at a San Fernando Valley hospital failed to show up for a court hearing, resulting in a bench warrant for his arrest.
