Woman wasn't subject of previous search

Alayna Hamilton of Eugene, who was lost for four nights last week in the Boulder Creek Wilderness The Boulder Creek Wilderness is located in the Umpqua National Forest in the southern Cascade Range of Oregon, U.S..  area east of Roseburg, was not the subject of a previous search by search and rescue workers from the Lane County Sheriff's Office, as search and rescue coordinator John Miller told The Register-Guard.

"There was some information that was miscommunicated, and it was not accurate," said Miller, whose department has apologized to Hamilton. He said he heard from others within his department that she had been searched for once before in Lane County.

"It's my fault - I didn't follow up on confirming my data," he said, adding that "the last thing I want to do is make a traumatic event A traumatic event is an event that is or may be a cause of trauma. The term may refer to one of the followiong:

Seven volunteers from Miller's mountain rescue team found Hamilton, 25, early Saturday morning. She was in good condition and was able to walk out on her own.

Victim may have fired deadly gunshot

PORTLAND - An officer-involved shooting left one man dead outside a military recruiting center Wednesday, but the fatal shot might have been delivered by the victim's own gun, the authorities said.

The police officer and the victim both fired shots during the encounter, and it's unclear if the man died from the officer's shot or from a self-inflicted wound This article should not be confused with Self-Injury, which can include this general term but self-inflicted wound is more specific to self wounds inflicted during a war

A self-inflicted wound (SIW), was the act of harming one's self during military combat.

House fire possibly set to cover up slayings

KIRKLAND, Wash. - The two women and two little boys found dead after a house fire all died of wounds to the neck, and the fire apparently was set to cover up the slayings, authorities said Wednesday.

The home belonged to a soldier serving in Iraq, his wife and their two children. The victims were the young mother, her children and her sister, the King County medical examiner's office confirmed.
