Flags will fly at half-staff to honor Oregon soldier

Gov. Ted Kulongoski Theodore R. "Ted" Kulongoski (born November 5 1940, in rural Missouri[1]) is an American Democratic politician. Since 2003, he has served as the Governor of Oregon. He was re-elected in 2006.  ordered all flags at public institutions be flown at half-staff today in memory of Pfc. Thomas Tucker Thomas Tucker may refer to:

Tucker was assigned to the Army's 1st Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade, 101st Airborne Division, at Fort Campbell Fort Campbell is a United States Army installation located between Hopkinsville, Kentucky and Clarksville, Tennessee and is home to the 101st Airborne Division.

The fort is named in honor of BG William Bowen Campbell, the last Whig Governor of Tennessee.

Health care reform advocacy group to meet

Health Care For All Oregon and the Archimedes Movement will hold a community meeting and workshop on health care reform from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Eugene Water & Electric Board public meeting rooms, 500 E. Fourth Ave.

Willamalane offers talent show for children

SPRINGFIELD - Willamalane Park and Recreation District is calling all kids between the ages of 4 and 18 to take part in the "Just for Kids" talent show set for 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at Meadow Park Meadow Park is the home of the English Southern Premier League football club Gloucester City. The club moved from their former Horton Road ground in 1986. The ground has a total capacity of 4500 with a 560-seat stand. Other than this the ground is terraced and 80% is under cover. .

Performers may dance, sing, play an instrument or put on any other kind of performance. Some performers will be invited to entertain during the Children's Celebration scheduled for July 8 in Island Park.

Alzheimer's group will look at travel considerations

SPRINGFIELD - "Helpful Hints When Traveling with Your Alzheimer's Loved One" is the topic at the next monthly education program of the Alzheimer's Association.

The meeting is at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Willamalane Adult Activity Center, 215 West C St. Beverly Cridland from the PeaceHealth Center for Senior Health is the speaker. A $5 donation is suggested. For information, call 345-8392.
