Argument leads to fatal shooting

PACOIMA -- A man armed with a handgun shot and killed his neighbor and wounded the dead man's son after an argument Sunday night, police said.

Police were looking for the gunman, who was given the weapon by his own son during the dispute at 8:20 p.m. on the 10100 block of Woodale Avenue, Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Mike Lopez said.

Police know who the gunman is, but his identity and those of the other men involved were not released. The son of the dead man was shot in the leg. He was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center, Lopez said.

No other information was available.
