Alcohol ordinance revision coming

LANCASTER - Los Angeles County, city and town council representatives will discuss upgrading the county's 1992 ordinance regulating businesses that sell alcohol.

The panel discussion will take place from 10 to 11:30 a.m. March 15 at the Antelope Valley Alcohol, Tobacco and Other Drug Police Coalition meeting at the local United Way offices, 42422 10th St. W.

Present will be Norm Hickling, a field deputy to county Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San , and Laurie Lile, Palmdale's planning director. Unincorporated communities' town council members have been invited, said Ray Chavira, the coalition's acting chairman.

Palmdale last year strengthened its controls on businesses that sell alcohol, with Lancaster officials considering doing likewise.

``It's most appropriate for the county to consider a similar revision,'' Chavira said.
