Kings' Frolov to be examined

Kings forward Alexander Frolov, who had to leave the Olympics early because of a sore shoulder, will undergo an MRI 1. (application) MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging.
2. MRI - Measurement Requirements and Interface.
 today to determine the severity of the injury.

Frolov, playing for Russia, injured his shoulder on Saturday and returned to Los Angeles on Tuesday night. During its broadcast Wednesday, NBC said Frolov had suffered strained shoulder ligaments, but the Kings will wait for today's examination by Dr. Ronald Kvitne to determine Frolov's status.

The Kings resume their season, following the 17-day Olympic break, one week from today.

BASKETBALL: Oklahoma State coach Eddie Sutton, who was involved in a car accident earlier this month and took a medical leave of absence, will undergo surgery to correct chronic hip and back problems before he enters an alcohol treatment center.

Gene Bess became the first college basketball coach to win 1,000 games when Three Rivers (Mo.) Community College beat Forest Park 77-60 in St. Louis.

The 70-year-old Bess' 1,000-258 record is unmatched at any collegiate level. Former North Carolina coach Dean Smith's 879 career wins are the most in NCAA Division I.

Harry Statham at McKendree College in Lebanon, Ill., near St. Louis, is the winningest coach at any four-year college or university, compiling 912 wins in 40 years of coaching.

COLLEGES: Three former college athletes have filed a class action lawsuit class action lawsuit

A lawsuit in which one party or a limited number of parties sue on behalf of a larger group to which the parties belong. For example, investors may bring a class action lawsuit against a brokerage firm that has actively promoted a tax
 against the NCAA, seeking what could be scholarship increases of about $2,500 annually and damages that could amount to $350 million.

The antitrust complaint, filed last week in U.S. District Court in Los Angeles, seeks to remove NCAA scholarship limits - tuition, books, room and board - and allow schools to pay what is known as the ``full cost of attendance.'' That includes money for laundry, school supplies, telephone and travel.

The plaintiffs are former Stanford football player Jason White, former UCLA football player Brian Polak and former University of San Francisco     [  basketball player Jovan Harris.
