Gunman sought in street shooting

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - Police searched Saturday for a gunman who fatally fa·tal·ly

The victim, 19-year-old North Hollywood resident Gustavo Ramirez, was not a gang member and officials said they haven't yet determined a motive motive or motif (mōtēf`), in music, a short phrase or passage of two or more notes and repeated or elaborated throughout the composition. Police were called to the 5900 block of Cartwright Avenue around 10 p.m. Saturday in response to a report that shots had been fired, said Sgt. When police arrived, they found Ramirez on the ground with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene, Vasquez said.

No motive known in woman's death

SUN VALLEY - Police found a woman shot dead on a Sun Valley street, authorities said.

Motorcyclist dies from hitting fence

CAMARILLO - A motorcyclist died when he crashed through a fence where Ventura Boulevard Ventura Boulevard is one of the primary east-west thouroughfares in the San Fernando Valley; as it was originally a part of the El Camino Real (the trail between Spanish missions), Ventura Boulevard is the oldest route in the San Fernando Valley. It was also U.S.  dead-ends, Ventura County authorities said.

The victim of the crash, which apparently happened Friday night, was identified only as a 25-year-old man from Texas.

Officials concluded the motorcyclist was riding west on West Ventura Boulevard, when he ran out of road and slammed through the fence.
