Gunfire kills three inside post office

GOLETA - Three people were killed and at least one person was critically wounded Monday when a postal employee opened fire in a postal station in this seaside city that is located adjacent to the University of California, Santa Barbara History

``The suspect is still not apprehended,'' Cullom said shortly after 10 p.m.

Sheriff's spokesman Erik Raney told KCAL-TV (Channel 9) that the shooter was believed to be a postal employee. He said the shooting took place at a station where mail is handled. The TV station quoted a fire department official as saying a third person died from injuries at a local hospital.

The postal station is located across the street from a fire station, just a few blocks from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and Cullom said people ran to the fire station to report the shooting.

Burned remains found in forest

Instead of an injured person, detectives found the charred remains of an adult, Yates said.

Motorcyclist hurt in freeway attack

GARDEN GROVE - A motorcyclist was injured and several buses and a big-rig truck had their windows shattered Monday night, apparently by someone hurling bricks or rocks onto the Garden Grove Freeway, authorities said.

The motorcyclist, who was not seriously hurt, was treated at the scene and released, said California Highway Patrol Officer Katrina Lundgren.

Academy suing Grammy scalpers

The recording academy is trying to stop a Web site from selling tickets to next week's Grammy Awards ceremony, a lawsuit filed Monday shows.

The recording academy's suit against 2-Tickets.com, filed in federal court in Los Angeles, stresses that uninvited guests aren't welcome at the Grammy Awards - including this year's 48th annual event, to be held Feb. 8 at the Staples Center.
