Bradley Wagner, 58, was taken into custody at the police station and is no longer an employee of the department, Chief John Welter said. The woman making the allegations notified the department Nov. 11, within 24 hours of when the alleged attack occurred, and Wagner was relieved of duty while an investigation ensued, Welter said. Welter declined to give any details about the woman. He said he believes she lives in Anaheim and that the alleged crime occurred in the city. - City News Service Armenian trucker faces murder trial VAN NUYS - A trucker who was extradited from Armenia to face charges in the April 2000 road-rage slaying of documentary filmmaker Michael Craven was ordered Friday to stand trial for murder. Shahen Keshishian, 33, also was ordered to stand trial on charges of voluntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident. On April 29, 2000, Craven was driving his Jeep south on the Hollywood Freeway near Barham Boulevard when at least one person in a sport utility vehicle began throwing eggs at his vehicle, authorities said. Both motorists pulled over and the driver of the SUV ran down or drove over Craven as he stood on the shoulder, then sped away. Craven, 44, died at a hospital. Keshishian was arrested last November. Glendale police said last year that it was the first time in which someone from Armenia was handed to U.S. authorities to be returned to the United States to face criminal charges. - City News Service |
