Police seeking suspect

in credit union robbery

 and a baseball hat used a note to rob a credit union Wednesday.

Eugene police were searching for the man, who entered the Oregon Community Credit Union at 3065 W. 11th Ave. at 5:11 p.m. and demanded cash from a teller.

He was described as white, in his late 30s to mid-40s, about 5-feet-8-inches tall with a thin build. He had dark brown hair and wore sunglasses, a dark cap and a baggy bag·gy

A passerby saw a car speeding from the area. Police weren't sure if it was connected to the robbery, but described it as a black Ford four-wheel-drive pickup truck with a canopy.

CHARLESTON - The Coast Guard recently ended the voyage of a commercial fishing vessel because of safety violations and the alleged discovery of methamphetamine on board.

Also during the boarding, a Coos County sheriff's deputy found that the operator was in possession of a glass pipe containing methamphetamine, the Coast Guard said. The operator was taken into custody and transported to the Coos County Jail.
