James Riley Blake[1] (born December 28, 1979 in Yonkers, New York, United States) is an American professional tennis player and is currently the 8th ranked player in

--Benson Cherono of Kenya won the Beijing International Marathon despite mistakenly running off the course and shortening his route by 800 meters. Cherono finished in 2 hours, 6 minutes, 55 seconds - 40 seconds faster than the best time in Beijing and 5:20 ahead of runner-up James Moiben of Kenya.

Sun Yingjie of China won the women's race for the third straight time. She covered the 26.2 miles in 2:21:01, beating two other Chinese, Zhou Chunxiu and Sun Weiwei.

--Haile Gebrselassie ran the fastest marathon of the season and broke the course record at the Amsterdam Marathon. In only his second marathon, the former two-time Olympic champion in the 10,000 meters won in 2 hours, 6 minutes, 20 seconds.
