 fire shot when found

LANCASTER - A Palmdale man was shot at Monday morning by two thieves who drove off in his wife's car, deputies said.

The woman had left the 2002 Nissan's engine running in the driveway on Janus Drive about 5:30 a.m. and someone stole it, deputies said. Her husband went in another vehicle to look for it, and saw it driving out of the nearby Sagetree Village mobile-home park.

When the husband pulled alongside, one of the two men inside pulled out a gun and fired a shot at him, deputies said. The bullet hit the vehicle door but the man was not wounded.

The thieves sped off in the stolen car, deputies said.
