Tryouts planned for PONY baseball

LANCASTER - The Quartz Hill PONY Baseball League will hold sign-ups from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at the Quartz Hill PONY Baseball field. The field is located at Avenue L-8 and 35th Street West behind Valley View Elementary School elementary school: see school. .

League tryouts will begin Jan. 22. Players must attend two tryouts to be eligible for the player draft.

The registration fee is $130, plus a $75 refundable Refundable

Foster parenting training offered

PALMDALE - An orientation meeting for people interested in becoming foster parents will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday at the Children's Bureau The Children's Bureau may refer to:

Vilppu will show techniques of art

LANCASTER - Artist Glenn Vilppu will demonstrate some of his art techniques and sign copies of his books and DVDs from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Cedar cedar, common name for a number of trees, mostly coniferous evergreens. Area Little League sets sign-up event

PALMDALE - The American Indian American Indian
 or Native American or Amerindian or indigenous American

Any member of the various aboriginal peoples of the Western Hemisphere, with the exception of the Eskimos (Inuit) and the Aleuts.
 Little League will hold sign-ups from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Desert Sands Park, 39101 3rd St. E. Late registration will be accepted throughout the month.
