HARRISBURG - Hoping to spur job growth in Lane and Linn counties Linn County is the name of four counties in the United States:
  • Linn County, Iowa
  • Linn County, Kansas
  • Linn County, Missouri
  • Linn County, Oregon
, the state's economic development agency on Monday announced that it will expand Harrisburg's enterprise zone to include land within Junction City.

Enterprise zones offer property tax waivers and other incentives to lure or keep businesses in economically distressed areas.

The current Harrisburg zone includes mostly industrial and commercial parcels around Harrisburg. The new zone adds 1.5 square miles A square mil is a unit of area, equal to the area of a square with sides of length one mil. A mil is one thousandth of an international inch. This unit of area is usually used in specifying the area of the cross section of a wire or cable.  of industrial and commercial land off Interstate 5 near Harrisburg and in Junction City, according to according to
