Campsite reservations tough

Reservable Oregon state park campsites for Memorial Day weekend are scarce and scattered, Oregon Parks and Recreation Department officials said Tuesday. Workshops for women planned

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife's "Becoming an Outdoors-Woman" program will hold a workshop June 13-15 at Camp Magruder in Rockaway Beach Rockaway Beach may refer to:

Lighthouse plan up for review

The Oregon Parks and Recreation Department will present an Umpqua Lighthouse State Park plan for public review on Thursday, May 29, in Reedsport. OPRD OPRD Obsolete Property Rehabilitation District  will invite public comment from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Umpqua Discovery Center, 409 Riverfront Way. An advisory committee meeting will be held at the same site that day from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. The draft may be reviewed beginning Friday at www.prd.state.or.us/masterplans_umpqua.php.

Volkswalk set on wetlands trail

The Eugene-Springfield Mossbacks Volkssport club will sponsor a free walk through the west Eugene wetlands Sunday. Walkers may choose between an 11-kilometer (6.8-mile) walk or a 5K (3.1-mile) version. The route starts at Courtsports Athletic Club, 4242 Commerce St., and follows the recently opened section of the Fern Ridge bike path. Interpretive signs will aid in observing the waterfowl waterfowl, common term for members of the order Anseriformes, wild, aquatic, typically freshwater birds including ducks, geese, and screamers.
