 Young Marines The Young Marines is a paramilitary youth program in the United States, open to children from the ages of eight years old through high school. It is a subsidiary organization of the U.S. Marine Corps.  organization will hold a registration and information meeting at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Buena Vista School, 37005 Hillcrest Drive.

Spilled beef sticks block Highway 58

TEHACHAPI - A spilled load of snack food shut down Highway 58 in both directions west of Tehachapi on Monday, California Highway Patrol highway patrol

A tractor-trailer loaded with Slim Jim beef sticks overturned about 3:20 p.m. on the highway two miles west of Tehachapi, spilling its load and blocking both sides of the highway.

The driver was not injured.
