BRIEFLY YOUNG GIRL NEARLY DROWNS IN BATHTUB.


VAN NUYS - A 10-month-old girl was in critical condition after nearly drowning Saturday in a bathtub in a Van Nuys apartment, officials said.

``The 19-year-old mother had stepped out briefly to an adjacent room to fold some towels,'' said Los Angeles Fire Department The Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD), also known as the Los Angeles City Fire Department to distinguish it from the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Helicopters used against 5-acre fire

SUN VALLEY - Firefighters battled a five-acre brush fire west of Sun Valley on Saturday, but no structural damage or injuries were reported, a city fire spokesman said.

The fire broke out about 5 p.m. in the 9300 block of North Sunland Park Sunland Park may refer to:
