BRIEFLY WOMAN, 90, DIES AFTER BUS HITS HER.


OXNARD - A 90-year-old woman who was hit by a school bus driver as she walked in a crosswalk has died of her injuries, officials said Thursday.

Rosa Garcia of Oxnard died seven hours after being hit at Fourth and A streets by a chartered school bus driven by Ronald Brady, 56, of Oxnard.

Investigators said Garcia was in a crosswalk, walking on a green light, when she was hit by the bus at it made a left turn. The case has been turned over to the District Attorney's Office for review, officials said.

Missing boy found; father arrested

A state law enforcement organization whose police officers patrol the public highways.
 will deploy a maximum number of officers throughout the holiday weekend, in an effort to keep the roads safe from drunk drivers and other problems, officials said.

The maximum enforcement period, which means that 80 percent of all available officers will be working, begins tonight at 6 p.m. and ends at midnight on Christmas Day, according to the CHP.
