Chris Webber's high school refused Monday to forfeit three state championship basketball titles he helped win, a day after the Michigan High School Athletic Association ruled he should not have been allowed to play because of his relationship with a former Michigan booster.

The Sacramento Kings star violated his amateur standing and was ineligible during the time he played at Detroit Country Day, the governing body said Sunday. The association had left it up to the school to decide whether to forfeit games in which Webber played.

--Despite sitting out the season's first 17 games in an NCAA eligibility dispute, Pepperdine's Yakhouba Diawara was named All-West Coast Conference. Fellow junior forward Glen McGowan was the other Waves player selected.

SOCCER: A WUSA Soccer Festival will be held at the Home Depot Center in Carson on June 24-27. In addition to exhibition games featuring U.S. women's national team stars, the festivals will have clinics, player appearances and autograph sessions.

FOOTBALL: A woman who reported being raped by a University of Colorado player says an athletic department official offered her a letter of apology from the player after a meeting at which she was discouraged from pressing charges by coach Gary Barnett, the Denver Post reported.

--Northwestern State offensive lineman Christopher Waddell died after collapsing during an offseason workout on the Natchitoches, La., campus.

TENNIS: Four University of Minnesota women's players left the team in the past year because of what they deemed inappropriate behavior by coach Tyler Thomson and the lack of action against him by the university and athletic department, the St. Paul (Minn.) Pioneer Press reported.

JURISPRUDENCE: Western Kentucky and the company that licenses its sports mascot Big Red are suing Italian Premier Silvio Berlusconi's Mediaset company for $250 million. The school argues that a hit satirical news show in Italy ripped off Big Red and turned it into a character called Gabibbo.
