OAK PARK - An 18-year-old died early Friday after he lost control of the SUV he was driving and it hit a tree on Potrero Road, authorities said.

Workshops to aid property owners

Los Angeles County is hosting free workshops to help property owners who believe their taxes should be lowered because of a property value decline.

Sessions will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 20 and March 20 in the Bernardi Senior Center, 6514 Sylmar Ave., Van Nuys, and at 10 a.m. at Glendale Public Library The Glendale Public Library is located in Glendale, California, and serves a diverse community of over 200,000 people. Bail again denied JDL n. 1. Jewish Defense League.  plot suspect

A Los Angeles judge Friday again denied bail for a Jewish Defense League The Jewish Defense League (JDL) is a militant Jewish organization whose stated goal is to protect Jews from anti-Semitism.[1] Founded by Rabbi Meir Kahane in New York City in 1968, its self-described purpose was to protect Hasidic Jews from harassment in Brooklyn, and to  member, who with JDL Chairman Irv Rubin, is accused in a bomb plot authorities said targeted a mosque and a congressman's office.

Earl Krugel, 59, and Rubin were arrested Dec. 11 and are both charged.

Man pleads guilty in weapons case

A friend of a former KNBC KNBC Kings Norton Bowling Club  (Channel 4) helicopter news reporter pleaded guilty Friday to a federal charge stemming from the sale of two fully automatic machine guns the chopper pilot had to an undercover agent at a model airplane field in Van Nuys.

Jeff Miller, 46, free on $20,000 bond, faces up to 10 years in prison when he is sentenced, authorities said.

Trial for pilot Robert Pettee, 51, is set for Jan. 15. He is free on $25,000 bond.

Stabbing victim's condition stable

NORTH HOLLYWOOD - A man stabbed his cousin during a fight in the 6600 block of Vineland Avenue, police said Friday.

The 18-year-old was taken to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center Providence Holy Cross Medical Center is a hospital in Mission Hills, California, USA. Ex-dancer says she's no stalker

VENTURA - A former Las Vegas topless dancer accused of stalking her ex-lover and creating a Web site with graphic photos of their trysts pleaded not guilty Friday to charges.

Authorities said when the affair between Robin Kelly, 43, and the man ended she became furious and set up the site.

A Los Angeles judge Friday threw out most of a race and gender discrimination case filed against Warner Bros. Television Warner Bros. Television is the television production and distribution arm of Time Warner's Warner Bros. Entertainment and The CW Television Network (in which Warner has a 50% ownership stake).  and the producers of ``Friends'' by a former writer's assistant.

The judge left a harassment allegation against Warner Bros. Television.

Plane passengers freed after checks

PASADENA - Two men aboard a private plane that flew into restricted airspace near the Rose Bowl during Thursday's game were released after background checks were conducted, authorities said.

The FAA said the 27-year-old pilot could face discipline if he violated Federal Aviation Administration Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), component of the U.S. Department of Transportation that sets standards for the air-worthiness of all civilian aircraft, inspects and licenses them, and regulates civilian and military air traffic through its air traffic control  rules.

The men said they were on assignment for a radio and television station and told police they did not know the national championship game was being played Thursday.
