Macho Uno, the champion 2-year-old, has an injured ankle and will not run in the Kentucky Derby.

Trainer Joe Orseno said the persistent injury to the colt's left rear ankle will prevent him from running in the 127th running of the Derby on May 5.

The colt will be flown from Orseno's winter training base at Florida's Gulfstream Park to the Rood rood (rd), crucifix mounted above the entrance to the chancel and flanked by large figures of the Virgin and St.  and Riddle Equine Clinic in Lexington, Ky., today.

Macho Uno won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile The Breeders' Cup Juvenile is a Thoroughbred horse race for 2-year-old colts and geldings raced on dirt. It is held annually at a different racetrack in the United States or Canada as part of the Breeders' Cup.  at odds of 6-1 for his third victory in four starts and was considered a favorite for the Kentucky Derby.

--Bob Baffert will take another shot at the world's richest horse race.

The trainer who won the 1998 Dubai World Cup The Dubai World Cup is a Thoroughbred horse race held annually since 1996 at the Nad Al Sheba Racecourse in the city of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The race is operated through the Emirates Horse Racing Authority (EHRA) whose Chairman is Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan,  with Silver Charm will try to win with Captain Steve on March 24 in the $6 million race.

BASKETBALL: Former coach Paul Westhead, whose brand of high octane basketball in the late 80's and early 90's put Loyola Marymount on the map, heads a class of six named to the school's Hall of Fame.
