- Daily News Teacher arrested in lewd-act case A fourth-grade teacher at a Tujunga elementary school has been arrested on suspicion of committing lewd acts on a child, authorities said Thursday. Michael William McMurray, 35, was arrested Oct. 14 at Plainview Elementary School, where he has taught for the past six years, according to the Los Angeles Police Department's Sexually Exploited Child Unit. Detectives began investigating McMurray after the school's principal received complaints that the teacher was touching children inappropriately, police said. By interviewing former students, detectives have found additional victims from two years ago, police said.
