BRIEFLY TEENAGER'S DEATH DECLARED SUICIDE.

House demolition may be punished

The Los Angeles City Council The Los Angeles City Council is the governing body of the City of Los Angeles, California, United States.  on Tuesday directed city officials to prosecute a developer accused of demolishing a historic building without a permit and to deny him all permits at the site for five years.

City officials said builder G.H. Palmer's firm recently tore down an 1887 Bunker Hill home known as the Giese residence even as they were preparing to have it moved to a new location. The developer has called the demolition an accident.

The council asked the city attorney and Department of Building and Safety officials to pursue all possible criminal and civil measures available.

Ex-Rampart cop `forever ... sorry'

A former Rampart Division police officer apologized Tuesday before he was sentenced to a year in jail in what investigators called the framing of an innocent man who was beaten during his arrest.

The senior rabbi at Temple Isaiah in Los Angeles was named on Tuesday as president of the Board of Rabbis of Southern California.
