 in North Hills, who was reportedly upset about a test, was arrested after allegedly stabbing her teacher in the neck, it was reported Monday.

The student allegedly stabbed the teacher with a small kitchen knife last Wednesday while they were inside a classroom at the school, 9229 Haskell Ave., said Sgt. Man pleads guilty to two tax charges

A Northridge man pleaded guilty Monday to two counts of preparing false tax returns.

Luis Olguin, 38, who operated L&L Professional Services in Van Nuys, admitted preparing 234 false returns for tax years 2000 through 2002, said Gary Tang, a spokesman for the Internal Revenue Service.

Olguin faces up to six years in prison and a $500,000 fine when he is sentenced March 14.

2nd man arrested for shooting death

Police have arrested a second man in connection with the death of a 14- year-old boy shot while riding his bicycle in an alley, authorities said Monday.

Fred Douglas Brown, 19, was arrested early Sunday morning on suspicion of murder, police said. David Michael Porter, 19, was arrested Oct. 21.

Byron Lee was shot Oct. 9 near McKinley Avenue and 81st Street. Police said two men followed the boy through the alley in their car, spoke with him briefly and shot him with handguns before driving away.

Woman, 19, held for starting fires

NEWBURY PARK - A 19-year-old Texas woman was being questioned Monday in connection with a string of fires in the restrooms of a number of businesses, including a shoe store, Starbucks coffee shop and a Baja Fresh restaurant, officials said.

The woman had been soliciting magazine sales in the area along Broadbeck Lane and was detained following the fires that broke out at around 2 p.m., the Ventura County Sheriff's Department The Ventura County Sheriff's Department (VCSD) provides law enforcement for the unincorporated areas of Ventura County, California, USA, as well as several cities within the county. The cities that VCSD serves are Camarillo, Fillmore, Moorpark, Ojai, and Thousand Oaks.  reported. The fires were put out quickly with no significant damage, authorities said.

The flight to Atlanta will be a Boeing 757 that will leave the Bob Hope Airport at 7:45 a.m., arriving in Atlanta at 2:50 p.m. The flight will leave Atlanta at 6:55 p.m. and return to Burbank at 8:42 p.m. It will accommodate about 180 passengers.
