BRIEFLY SUSPECT ARRESTED IN DEATH OF GIRL, 16.

VAN NUYS - A North Hollywood man was arrested Tuesday in the slaying of a 16-year-old girl who testified against his brother and another man in a murder case, prosecutors said.

Authorities said Juan Catalan, 24, was taken into custody at his home in connection with an arrest warrant filed last week accusing him of one count of murder with the special-circumstance allegations of murder of a witness and lying in wait.

Catalan was accused of fatally shooting the witness May 12, a week after she testified at a preliminary hearing for his brother, Mario Catalan, 26, and co-defendant Jose Ledesma, 20. All three men are being held without bail.
