BRIEFLY SLAYING SUSPECT PLEADS NOT GUILTY.


PASADENA - A La Crescenta boy accused of murdering two teen-agers at a Glendale elementary school elementary school: see school.  pleaded not guilty Wednesday in Superior Court.

Demirdjian, who is being charged as an adult, is accused in the beating deaths of Blaine Talmo, 14, of Glendale and Chris McCulloch, 13, of La Canada Flintridge. The boys' bodies were found July 23 on a deserted playground at Valley View Elementary School.

Demirdjian's attorney, Charles Mathews Charles Mathews (June 28, 1776 - June 28, 1835) was an English theatre manager and comic actor, well-known during his time for his gift for impersonation. His play, At Home, in which he played every character, was the first monopolylogue and the defining work in the genre. , has denied his client's involvement in the murder but the boy has said he was there and saw who killed the boys.

Glendale police continue to investigate, saying they believe more than one person committed the killings.

Student arrested in weapon threat

GLENDALE - A 16-year-old was arrested after pulling a 7-inch knife on a classmate at Clark Magnet High School when the boy insulted the suspect's sister, police said Wednesday.

The suspect was taken out of class Monday and arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon Assault with a Deadly Weapon is the term used to describe the act of threatening to harm one or more people by using a weapon (usually a firearm). Here, assault must be differentiated from battery as they are often confused. Assault is threatening to use force. , according to a police report. The 16-year-old told police he pulled the knife on the other boy, but only meant to scare him.

The victim and his mother reported the incident to school officials, who called the police. Authorities confiscated con·fis·cate
