Armenian hate crimes line set up

GLENDALE - A local group has set up a hate crimes hotline out of concern that Armenians may become targets of anti-Middle Eastern sentiments resulting from the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks.

Fund-raisers set for rescue crews

Three fund-raisers to benefit New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 rescue workers and relief efforts are scheduled to take place this week in Burbank.

The Burbank Fire Department and Firefighters Local 778 are hosting a ``Fill the Boot'' fund-raiser from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the the grand opening of Costco at Burbank and Victory boulevards.

From 6:30 to 10 a.m. Friday, the Bret Harte Children's Center will hold a community pancake breakfast at 1421 N. Ontario St.

And from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, the fire and police departments, along with Local 778 and the Burbank Police Officers Association, will host another fund-raiser at the Police/Fire Museum at 311 E. Orange Grove Ave.

Church to honor many cultures

GLENDALE - First United Methodist Church First United Methodist Church is a common name for the first United Methodist church established in a particular locality. Many First United Methodist Churches exist around the world. , 134 N. Kenwood St., will hold a multicultural service and festival at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The service will include musical performances by a Korean praise team, Filipino and Korean choirs, and the church choir.
