Screenwriting series begins this week at DIVA

Students will work on developing, outlining, drafting and revising scripts. The $20 classes run from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturdays, with a minimum commitment of four sessions.

Workshop develops fine art of the title sequence

A title sequence does more than just present the name of a movie. It sets the tone of a film and gives the audience an idea of what it is about to see.

A DIVA workshop aimed at teenage filmmakers will examine this important film component by looking at examples that utilize still-frames, live action, animation, typography and graphic design. Instructor Brian Walker will show students how to produce their own dynamic sequences.

The workshop runs from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, and again Aug. 13. The cost is $40. For more information, call 344-3482.
