BRIEFLY SHOOTING AT PARTY SENDS 2 TO HOSPITAL.


A party at an Atwater Village home soured into a shooting rampage that wounded two people Saturday after one man fired 20 shots with a pistol and another blasted a shotgun five times, police said.

At least two people were sent to a hospital, a man listed in serious condition and a 15-year-old boy in critical condition, police said.

The shooting, in the 3700 block of Seneca Avenue occurred about 1:15 a.m., said Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  police Sgt. Zimmie Williams of the Hollenbeck Station.

Probation to end for notorious hacker

Disputed gas pump leads to fatal shot

BELLFLOWER - An argument over a gas pump at a Bellflower Chevron filling station burst into gunfire, leaving one man dead and another wounded, a sheriff's deputy said Saturday.

The shooting in the 8500 block of Artesia Boulevard occurred about 9:45 p.m. Friday, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Deputy Rick Varela.

Two men in one car got into an argument with at least three others in another vehicle over who would first use a gas pump, said sheriff's Deputy Bill Spear.

The two men stayed and filled their tank while the others moved their car, but the fight continued, Spear said. One man drew a gun and opened fire at the men pumping gas Pumping GAS was a two-hour programming block on the Nickelodeon spin-off network, Nick GAS. "Pumping GAS" was commercial-free, with only a thirty-second "pit stop" every now and then. , he said.

A man struck in the chest was pronounced dead at a hospital, Spear said. Another man was hit in the chest as well.

Jail inmate escapes trip to courthouse

Law enforcement officials were seeking the public's help Saturday in their search for an inmate who escaped during a routine trip to the courthouse.
