 route project delayed

BURBANK - Construction of the planned Chandler Boulevard Bikeway Project has again been delayed while the city works out a license agreement with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority.

Construction of the route along Chandler Boulevard from Mariposa Street to Clybourn Avenue is now expected to begin in August and be completed next February.

Residents have long waited for the project, which has been riddled with bureaucratic delays at various levels, to start.

``This has got to be the most frustrating project known to man,'' Councilman Dave Golonski said.

Applications up at Occidental

EAGLE ROCK - Occidental College received a record number of applications for a fourth consecutive year, topping 4,000 for the first time in the college's 115-year history, officials said Wednesday.

As of Feb. 7, the small liberal arts college Liberal arts colleges are primarily colleges with an emphasis upon undergraduate study in the liberal arts.
