POINT MUGU - Private memorial services for the two military pilots killed in Saturday's air show have been scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Faith at Naval Base A naval base primarily for support of the forces afloat, contiguous to a port or anchorage, consisting of activities or facilities for which the Navy has operating responsibilities, together with interior lines of communications and the minimum surrounding area necessary for local  Ventura County.

Andrew Muhs, 31, a radar intercept officer, were killed Saturday when their QF-4 Phantom aircraft crashed during the annual Point Mugu Air Show.

Yang the new U.S. attorney for L.A.

The U.S. Senate unanimously confirmed Debra Yang on Monday as the chief federal prosecutor in Los Angeles Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850. .

Yang, 42, is the first Asian-American to serve as U.S. attorney in her native city.

She previously was a prosecutor in the office. For the past five years, Yang has been a judge in the Los Angeles Municipal and Superior courts.

Sheriff Baca gets out of hospital

Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca was released from a Las Vegas hospital Monday and reported to work after recovering from exhaustion and dehydration suffered as he ran a leg of a desert relay race during the weekend, authorities said.

Baca, 59, complained of feeling ill Sunday after completing his 6.4-mile leg in the 120-mile Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay.
