Police ask public to help find boys

Police asked for public help Tuesday in locating two boys last seen in the northeast San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

Officials also asked for help in locating 13-year-old Marcus Leonard King, last seen July 18 in the 9000 block of Sunland Park Drive in the Sun Valley area. He was described as a male black, 155 pounds and 5 feet 4 inches tall. He was wearing long black shorts, a white long-sleeve shirt, white shoes and a black baseball cap with white lettering.

Suspect in arsons will be evaluated

ENCINO - A man charged with a series of arson attacks at houses of worship in Encino earlier this year was ordered Tuesday to undergo evaluation to determine if he is mentally competent to stand trial.

1 slain after shots are fired in Arleta

ARLETA - A man was killed Tuesday in an apparent gun battle between occupants of a car and a group standing in front of a house, police said.

The shooting occurred in the 9300 block of Gullo Avenue about 2:20 p.m. when men approached the residence in a car, authorities said.
