BRIEFLY SCHOOL SHUTTERED AFTER GUN REPORT.

LANCASTER - Sheriff's deputies locked down a Lancaster elementary school Wednesday, just before classes were let out for the day, after receiving numerous reports of a man with a gun in the area.

After searching nearly a square mile surrounding Eastside Elementary School in the 6700 block of East Avenue H, deputies spotted a teen matching the description they had received from witnesses.

The teen was questioned and deputies found that he had been walking in the neighborhood carrying a reproduction of a high-powered assault rifle.

Deputies let school officials know, and relieved parents were able to pick up their children just a few minutes after school was scheduled to be let out.

Officials say they are unsure of what action, if any, will be taken against the teen.
