Weight room work to begin in April Construction will begin this month on the long-awaited expansion of the weight room at Saugus High School. The project, needed to meet the demands of a growing student population, is being financed by $184,900 in developer fees. Students in various athletic programs use the weight room year around. Completion of the Saugus High project will bring all of the district's high school weight rooms up to current standards. Expanded weight training facilities have been completed at Canyon and Valencia high schools and a new weight room was part of the new gymnasium built at Hart in 1996. The work will take up to six months, with school officials hoping the project will be finished by the start of the next school year.
