Trial is ordered in toddler's death

A 20-year-old Canoga Park woman on Wednesday was ordered in San Fernando to stand trial in connection with her 2-year-old son's death last year.

Claudia Liseth Merlos was charged last October with one count each of murder, child abuse and torture involving the boy, identified in the criminal complaint as ``Ivan M.''

The boy was rushed to a hospital last Sept. 30 after a call from Merlos' roommate, authorities said.
