Assembly Democratic leaders in Sacramento have postponed releasing proposed new districts for their house until at least today, blaming technical difficulties and last-minute adjustments in lines.

Stein new leader of airports panel

Encino attorney and real estate developer Ted Stein was elected president of the Los Angeles Airport Commission on Tuesday, in a return to a post he held several years ago.

Stein was the unanimous choice of the board, which also selected Warren Valdry as vice president.

Stein had served as president of the Airport Commission from 1993 to 1996 under former Mayor Richard Riordan. Mayor James Hahn reappointed Stein to the panel this year.

Abandoned cars target of new law

Business is going to be picking up for the city of Los Angeles

The City of Los Angeles was a streamlined passenger train jointly operated by the Chicago and North Western Railway and the Union Pacific Railroad.
, which is going all out to get abandoned vehicles off private property and public streets, Mayor Jim Hahn said Tuesday.

Under the new initiative, residents may call 1-800-ABANDON to report such vehicles. The city's Department of Transportation will spearhead efforts to get them removed.

Once notified by the DOT that an abandoned car is a nuisance, an owner will have 10 days to remove it, said Hahn press deputy Hilda Marella Delgado.
