Library services director appointed

Burbank City Manager Robert Ovrom announced the appointment of John Fuchs as the new library services director for the city of Burbank. Fuchs, who will officially take over March 16, will succeed Barbara Pearson, who announced her resignation in January.

For the past eight years, Fuchs has served as the library director for Carmel Clay Public Library in Carmel, Indiana Carmel (IPA: [ˈkɑɹ.ml̩]) is a city in Hamilton County, Indiana, United States. The population was 37,733 at the 2000 census but has been growing very rapidly. . The salary range for the position is $6,761 to $8,214 per month.

Foundation earns state grant funds

The Glendale Community Foundation has received $149,250 from the California Endowment for regranting five health-related programs in the Glendale and foothills area. The agencies receiving the grant funds are: County of L.A. Health Department-Glendale region, Verdugo Mental Health Center, Glendale Healthy Kids, VNA VNA

 Care and the Glendale Youth Coalition. The 43-year-old Glendale Community Foundation, with more than $5.25 million in assets, serves as a charitable endowment for the entire Glendale community, including La Canada Flintridge, La Crescenta, Montrose and Verdugo City.
